The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कुलशैलफला मेघपक्षपुञ्जाः फलामृजः ।
जायन्ते च म्रियन्ते च ध्रियन्ते च जगत्खगाः ॥ ४३ ॥

kulaśailaphalā meghapakṣapuñjāḥ phalāmṛjaḥ |
jāyante ca mriyante ca dhriyante ca jagatkhagāḥ || 43 ||

Ambitious men are as greedy birds of air upon earth, who like the voracious vultures on the tops of high hills, are born to live and die in their aerial exploits, as on the wings of clouds in search of their prey.
