The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अहंकारमहालानं तृष्णारज्जुं मनोमदम् ।
जन्मजम्बालनिर्मग्नं जीवदन्तिनमुद्धरेत् ॥ ४१ ॥

ahaṃkāramahālānaṃ tṛṣṇārajjuṃ manomadam |
janmajambālanirmagnaṃ jīvadantinamuddharet || 41 ||

Release the elephant of your living soul said:—jiva, from the fetters of its egoism, its bonds of avarice and the ebriety of its mind; and deliver it from the muddy pit of its birth place, and retire to your solitude.
