The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
इति निर्णीय ततया धिया धवलया मुनिः ।
बद्धपद्मासनस्तस्थावर्धोन्मीलितलोचनः ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
iti nirṇīya tatayā dhiyā dhavalayā muniḥ |
baddhapadmāsanastasthāvardhonmīlitalocanaḥ || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued:—Thinking himself to be raised to this state of his transcendence, the saint sat in his posture of padmasana with his half shut eye-lids, and began to meditate in his translucent mind.
