The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कदा विकल्पपर्यस्तं मनो दोलावदोलनम् ।
शममेष्यति मे शान्तवातौजस इव भ्रमः ॥ २४ ॥

kadā vikalpaparyastaṃ mano dolāvadolanam |
śamameṣyati me śāntavātaujasa iva bhramaḥ || 24 ||

When will my mind get rid of its desire and dislike and cease to swing to and fro in the cradle of its option and caprice; and return to its steadiness, as a madman is calmed after the fit of his delirium has passed away?
