क्षणं विरतिमायाति रतिमेति क्षणं स्वयम् ।
क्षणं विकारमायाति संकल्पेनैव बालवत् ॥ ३१ ॥

kṣaṇaṃ viratimāyāti ratimeti kṣaṇaṃ svayam |
kṣaṇaṃ vikāramāyāti saṃkalpenaiva bālavat || 31 ||

The wistful mind now pursues its desired objects, and now it forsakes them in disgust; now it longs for joy, and then grows sulky at its failure like a fretful child.
