The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

क्षपितानखिलान्लोकान्दुःखक्रकचदारितान् ।
वल्लीवनस्थान्नभसः पृष्ठादर्क इवेक्षते ॥ ३८ ॥

kṣapitānakhilānlokānduḥkhakrakacadāritān |
vallīvanasthānnabhasaḥ pṛṣṭhādarka ivekṣate || 38 ||

The sage, like the sun, looks down from above the atmosphere of the earth, on the hosts of mortals that have been hewn down by misery, like heaps of brambles and branches scattered in the woods.
