The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अपश्यत्केवलं कायकङ्कालं पुरतो महत् ।
देहयुक्तमिवाभाग्यं दारिद्र्यमिव मूर्तिमत् ॥ ३ ॥

apaśyatkevalaṃ kāyakaṅkālaṃ purato mahat |
dehayuktamivābhāgyaṃ dāridryamiva mūrtimat || 3 ||

He only beheld his body, lying as a skeleton before him, as it was wretchedness or poverty personified in that shape.
