The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्थापिता मलमादत्ते यथा मृद्धर्षणं विना ।
परापराधविरहाद्व्याधिस्तस्याः प्रवर्तते ॥ ८० ॥

sthāpitā malamādatte yathā mṛddharṣaṇaṃ vinā |
parāparādhavirahādvyādhistasyāḥ pravartate || 80 ||

As the rust of the lazy needle passes off in sewing, without being rubbed with dust; so must it take the rust, unless it is put in the action of piercing the patient and passive shreds.
