The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.67.8

स्पन्दात्स्फुरति चित्सर्गो निःस्पन्दाद्ब्रह्म शाश्वतम् ।
जीवकारणकर्माद्या चित्स्पन्दस्याभिधा स्मृता ॥ ८ ॥

spandātsphurati citsargo niḥspandādbrahma śāśvatam |
jīvakāraṇakarmādyā citspandasyābhidhā smṛtā || 8 ||

The vibrations of the intellect lead to its continual transmigrations; and its quietness settles it in the state of the immovable Brahma. The oscillation of the intellect is known to be the cause of the living state and all its actions.
