Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.67.7

चित्त्वं चित्तं भावितं सत्स्पन्द इत्युच्यते बुधैः ।
दृश्यत्वभावितं चैतदस्पन्दनमिति स्मृतम् ॥ ७ ॥

cittvaṃ cittaṃ bhāvitaṃ satspanda ityucyate budhaiḥ |
dṛśyatvabhāvitaṃ caitadaspandanamiti smṛtam || 7 ||

Its oscillation appears in the fluctuation of the mind, and its calmness in the want of mental activity and exertions; as in the nonchalance of Yoga quietism.
