The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.66.20

यथा रज्ज्वां भुजङ्गाभा विनश्यत्येव वीक्षणात् ।
संविन्मात्रविवर्तेन नश्यत्येव हि संसृतिः ॥ २० ॥

yathā rajjvāṃ bhujaṅgābhā vinaśyatyeva vīkṣaṇāt |
saṃvinmātravivartena naśyatyeva hi saṃsṛtiḥ || 20 ||

If you will but turn to the side of your subjective consciousness only, you will get rid of the objective world, in the same manner as one is freed from his fear of snake in a rope, by his examination of the thing.
