The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
अस्तीह नियतिर्ब्राह्मी चिच्छक्तिः स्पन्दरूपिणी ।
अवश्यभवितव्यैकसत्ता सकलकल्पगा ॥ ८ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
astīha niyatirbrāhmī cicchaktiḥ spandarūpiṇī |
avaśyabhavitavyaikasattā sakalakalpagā || 8 ||

Vasishtha replied:—There is a supernatural and active energy of the Divine Intellect, called the predominant Decree, Fate or Destiny, which must come to pass, and bear its command over all our actions and desires.
