The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.50.24

प्राप दग्ध्वा वनं सिन्धुं मृगेन्द्रमिव कन्दरात् ।
सिन्धुरभ्यासतोऽग्न्यस्त्रं वारुणास्त्रेण शामयन् ॥ २४ ॥

prāpa dagdhvā vanaṃ sindhuṃ mṛgendramiva kandarāt |
sindhurabhyāsato'gnyastraṃ vāruṇāstreṇa śāmayan || 24 ||

He then fled to the woods like a lion from its cavern in the mountain, and repelled the fire that pursued him by his aqueous weapons.
