The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.48.35

स सुपर्णघनोऽपात्तं सर्पौघं भूप्रपूरकम् ।
कष्टं शलशलायन्तमगस्त्य इव वारिधिम् ॥ ३५ ॥

sa suparṇaghano'pāttaṃ sarpaughaṃ bhūprapūrakam |
kaṣṭaṃ śalaśalāyantamagastya iva vāridhim || 35 ||

The flying Garuda weapons devoured the creeping terrene serpents with a whistling noise (salsala), like that of the rising waters (water-spouts), in the act of their suction by Agastya—the sun.
