The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.34.10

प्रत्यनीकं भिनत्त्यन्तः कुठारैः कठिनैरियम् ।
सेना ग्राम्येव वनिता दयितं दृष्टिचेष्टितैः ॥ १० ॥

pratyanīkaṃ bhinattyantaḥ kuṭhāraiḥ kaṭhinairiyam |
senā grāmyeva vanitā dayitaṃ dṛṣṭiceṣṭitaiḥ || 10 ||

As the brave warrior was breaking the line of the enemy with his hardy axe; so was his beloved breaking his hard heart and spirit, with the soft glances of her eyes.
