The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.26.39

तद्देव्यौ क्रियतां तावदस्माकं शोकनाशनम् ।
महतां दर्शनं नाम न कदाचन निष्फलम् ॥ ३९ ॥

taddevyau kriyatāṃ tāvadasmākaṃ śokanāśanam |
mahatāṃ darśanaṃ nāma na kadācana niṣphalam || 39 ||

Therefore, O Devis! assuage this our excessive grief; as the visit of the great never goes for nothing.
