The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.22.23

परिपक्वं समालोक्य जराक्षारविधूसरम् ।
शिरःकूष्माण्डकं भुङ्क्ते पुंसां कालः किलेश्वरः ॥ २३ ॥

paripakvaṃ samālokya jarākṣāravidhūsaram |
śiraḥkūṣmāṇḍakaṃ bhuṅkte puṃsāṃ kālaḥ kileśvaraḥ || 23 ||

Death the lord of all beings, views the grey head of a man as a ripe pumpkin seasoned with the salt of old age, and devours it with zest.
