The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.6.6; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

बन्धुषु दारुणा दर्शनाद्, यथा —
हा किं करोमि तरलं भवनान्तराले
गोपेन्द्र गोपय बलाद् उपरुध्य बालम् ।
क्ष्मा-मण्डलेन सह चञ्चलयन् मनो मे
शृङ्गाणि लङ्घयति पश्य तुरङ्ग-दैत्यः ॥४.६.६॥

bandhuṣu dāruṇā darśanād, yathā —
hā kiṃ karomi taralaṃ bhavanāntarāle
gopendra gopaya balād uparudhya bālam |
kṣmā-maṇḍalena saha cañcalayan mano me
śṛṅgāṇi laṅghayati paśya turaṅga-daityaḥ
||4.6.6||

English translation

An example of demons as the cause of fear for Kṛṣṇa’s devotees, Kṛṣṇa as viṣaya, through seeing:

“O Nanda, what shall I do? Protect this restless child by keeping Him within the house. The Keśī demon is agitating my mind as well as the whole earth. See! He is jumping over the trees.”
