The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.6.5; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा वा —
मुर-मथन पुरस् ते को भुजङ्गस् तपस्वी
लघु-हरम् इति कार्षीर् मा स्म दीनाय मन्युम् ।
गुरुर् अयम् अपराधस् तथ्यम् अज्ञानतो’भूद्
अशरणम् अतिमूढं रक्ष रक्ष प्रसीद ॥४.६.५॥

yathā vā —
mura-mathana puras te ko bhujaṅgas tapasvī
laghu-haram iti kārṣīr mā sma dīnāya manyum |
gurur ayam aparādhas tathyam ajñānato’bhūd
aśaraṇam atimūḍhaṃ rakṣa rakṣa prasīda
||4.6.5||

English translation

Another example:
“O Murāri! Before You, what am I but a vile snake? Do not become angry with this most fallen and miserable person. Not understanding who You were, I have committed a great offense. Being the greatest fool, I have no protector. You should therefore protect me. Be pleased with me.”
