The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.170; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

स्नेहो, यथा —
विमुञ्च पृथु-वेपथुं विसृज कण्ठाकुण्ठायितं
विमृज्य मयि निक्षिप प्रसरद्-अश्रु-धारे दृशौ ।
करं च मकर-ध्वज प्रकट-कण्टकालङ्कृतं
निधेहि सविधे पितुः कथय वत्स कः सम्भ्रमः ॥३.२.१७०॥

sneho, yathā —
vimuñca pṛthu-vepathuṃ visṛja kaṇṭhākuṇṭhāyitaṃ
vimṛjya mayi nikṣipa prasarad-aśru-dhāre dṛśau
|
karaṃ ca makara-dhvaja prakaṭa-kaṇṭakālaṅkṛtaṃ
nidhehi savidhe pituḥ kathaya vatsa kaḥ sambhramaḥ
||3.2.170||

English translation

Sneha:
“O Pradyumna! Stop that excessive trembling and relieve your choking voice. Wipe the tears from your eyes and look at Me. Give Me your hand full of goosebumps. O child! What is this veneration for your father?”
