Rig Veda 9.107.20
Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:
उ॒ताहं नक्त॑मु॒त सो॑म ते॒ दिवा॑ स॒ख्याय॑ बभ्र॒ ऊध॑नि । घृ॒णा तप॑न्त॒मति॒ सूर्यं॑ प॒रः श॑कु॒ना इ॑व पप्तिम ॥
उताहं नक्तमुत सोम ते दिवा सख्याय बभ्र ऊधनि । घृणा तपन्तमति सूर्यं परः शकुना इव पप्तिम ॥
utāhaṃ naktam uta soma te divā sakhyāya babhra ūdhani | ghṛṇā tapantam ati sūryam paraḥ śakunā iva paptima ||
English translation:
“I (delight) in your presence, tawny-coloured Soma, both day and night, for the sake of your friendship may we soar like birds far beyond the sun blazing with your light.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Sāmaveda has tavāham for utāham; duhanaḥ for sakhyāya; far beyond the sun: paraḥ is an adjective for sūryam;
Sūryam = soma, may we fly to you, the distant sun
