उप॑ क्षरन्ति॒ सिन्ध॑वो मयो॒भुव॑ ईजा॒नं च॑ य॒क्ष्यमा॑णं च धे॒नव॑: । पृ॒णन्तं॑ च॒ पपु॑रिं च श्रव॒स्यवो॑ घृ॒तस्य॒ धारा॒ उप॑ यन्ति वि॒श्वत॑: ॥
उप क्षरन्ति सिन्धवो मयोभुव ईजानं च यक्ष्यमाणं च धेनवः । पृणन्तं च पपुरिं च श्रवस्यवो घृतस्य धारा उप यन्ति विश्वतः ॥
upa kṣaranti sindhavo mayobhuva ījānaṃ ca yakṣyamāṇaṃ ca dhenavaḥ | pṛṇantaṃ ca papuriṃ ca śravasyavo ghṛtasya dhārā upa yanti viśvataḥ ||
English translation:
“The copiously-yielding and joy-conferringkine, distil (their milk) for the celebration of the (Soma) sacrifice; and for him who has undertaken its celebration; the nutritious streams of butter coverage from every quarter towards him, who both propitiates (his progenitors), and benefits (mankind).”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
Pṛṇantam ca papurim- ca = agent who gives plural asure or who gives satisfaction; pṛṇantam is applied to the pitṛs, or progenitors (pitram pṛṇayantam; papurm is applied to all living beings (prāṇinaḥ sarvadā pṛṇayantam puruṣam)
