Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तयोस्ते वचनाज्जग्मुः सह सर्वैः सुहृज्जनैः ।
नगरं खाण्डवप्रस्थं रत्नान्यादाय सर्वशः ॥ २५ ॥

tayoste vacanājjagmuḥ saha sarvaiḥ suhṛjjanaiḥ |
nagaraṃ khāṇḍavaprasthaṃ ratnānyādāya sarvaśaḥ || 25 ||
