Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततो द्विजातीन्सर्वांस्तान्दक्षिणाभिरतोषयत् ।
पूजिताश्चापि ते राज्ञा ततो जग्मुर्यथागतम् ॥ २८ ॥
