Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ते क्षत्रिया दह्यमानास्त्रिभिस्तैः पावकोपमैः ।
जग्मुर्विनाशं समरे राजन्दुर्मन्त्रिते तव ॥ ६ ॥

jagmurvināśaṃ samare rājandurmantrite tava || 6 ||
