तत्र चित्रम् अभूद् राजन्
शृणु त्वं तन् मुखान् मम
शङ्खचूडो नाम यक्षो
धनदानुचरो बली
tatra citram abhūd rājan
śṛṇu tvaṃ tan mukhān mama
śaṅkhacūḍo nāma yakṣo
dhanadānucaro balī
tatra—there; citram—a wonder; abhūt—became; rājan—O king; śṛṇu—hear; tvam—You; tat—that; mukhāt—from the mouth; mama—of me; śaṅkhacūḍaḥ—Śaṅkhacūḍa; nāma—named; yakṣaḥ—uaksa; dhanada—of Kuvera; anucaraḥ—follower; balī—powerful.
English translation of verse 2.23.6:
O king, then a wonderful thing happened. Please hear of it from my mouth.
There once was a very powerful yakṣa named Śaṅkhacūḍa, who was a follower of Kuvera.
