The Garga-samhita Verse 1.5.30, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 5 (The Lord’s Appearance) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

दुर्योधनः कलेर् अंशो
ऽभिमन्युः सोम एव च
द्रौणिः साक्षाच् छिवस्यापि
रूपं भूमौ भविष्यति

duryodhanaḥ kaler aṃśo
'bhimanyuḥ soma eva ca
drauṇiḥ sākṣāc chivasyāpi
rūpaṃ bhūmau bhaviṣyati

duryodhanaḥDuryodhana; kaleḥ—of Kali; aṃśaḥ—a part; abhimanyuḥ

English translation of verse 1.5.30:

Abhimanyu; soma—Soma; eva—certainly; ca—indeed; drauṇiḥ—Droṇa's son

Aśvatthāmā; sākṣāt—directly; śivasya—of Lord Śiva; api—also; rūpam—the form;

bhūmau—on the earth; bhaviṣyati—will be.

A partial incarnation of Kali will descend as Duryodhana. Soma will descend as Abhimanyu. Lord Śiva will place His own form on the earth as Droṇācārya's son

Aśvatthāmā.
