तद्-दर्शन-स्मर-रुजः
पुलिन्द्यः प्रेम-विह्वलाः
श्रीमत्-पाद-रजो धृत्वा
प्रानांस् त्यक्तुं समुद्यताः
tad-darśana-smara-rujaḥ
pulindyaḥ prema-vihvalāḥ
śrīmat-pāda-rajo dhṛtvā
prānāṃs tyaktuṃ samudyatāḥ
tat—of Him; darśana—by the sight; smara—with amorous desires; rujaḥ—agitated; pulindyaḥ—Pulinda girls; prema—with love; vihvalāḥ—overcome; śrīmat—of the handsome Lord; pāda—of the feet; rajaḥ—the dust; dhṛtvā—holding; prānān—life; tyaktum—to abandon; samudyatāḥ—were ready.
English translation of verse 1.4.56:
When they saw Him, some aborigine girls became tortured with lust. Overcome with love, they grasped the dust of His feet, intent on then giving up their lives.
