ब्रह्मचारि-वपुर् भूत्वा
रामस् तत्र समागतः
उवाच प्राण-सन्त्यागं
मा कूर्यत स्त्रियो वृथा

brahmacāri-vapur bhūtvā
rāmas tatra samāgataḥ
uvāca prāṇa-santyāgaṃ
mā kūryata striyo vṛthā

brahmacāriof a brahmacāri; vapuḥthe form; bhūtvā—becoming; rāmaḥRāma; tatra—there; samāgataḥ—went; uvāca—said; prāṇaof life; santyāgam—giving up; mā—don't; kūryata—do; striyaḥ—O women; vṛthāuselessly.

English translation of verse 1.4.57:

Assuming the form of a brahmacārī, Rāma went to them and said, "O women, do not give up your lives without good reason.
