इति दत्वा वरं रामस्
ततः पञ्चवतीं गतः
पर्ण-शालं समासाद्य
वन-वासं चकार ह
iti datvā varaṃ rāmas
tataḥ pañcavatīṃ gataḥ
parṇa-śālaṃ samāsādya
vana-vāsaṃ cakāra ha
iti—thus; datvā—having given; varam—benediction; rāmaḥ—Rāma; tataḥ—then; pañcavatīm—to the Pa 24cavatī forest; gataḥ—went; parṇa—of leaves; śālam—a cottage; samāsadya—attaining; vana—in the forest; vāsam—residence; cakāra—did; ha—indeed.
English translation of verse 1.4.55:
After giving this benediction, Rāma went to Pa 24cavatī. He went to a leaf-hut, and there He lived in the forest.
