This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 96.5

उत्पाता च नाम भीष्मा अशीतिं समपद्यथ ।
धर्मचक्रस्य तेजेन अशीतिं पुनर् भूमिजा ॥ ५ ॥

utpātā ca nāma bhīṣmā aśītiṃ samapadyatha |
dharmacakrasya tejena aśītiṃ punar bhūmijā || 5 ||

Then, indeed, by the might of the wheel of dharma eighty terrible portents arose and also eighty earth-born demons,... (5)
