This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 75.79

काकशिरो पद्मनेत्रो वालाहकुलेन अभिनिर्वृत्तो ।
हिमवन्तशिखरसदृशो मेघस्वनितदुंदुभिनिनादो ॥ ७९ ॥

kākaśiro padmanetro vālāhakulena abhinirvṛtto |
himavantaśikharasadṛśo meghasvanitaduṃdubhininādo || 79 ||

“Raven-black his head, lotus-blue his eyes; he is sprung from the race of Valahaka. His body is white like the summit of Himalaya, and his neigh is like the roar of thunder or of drum. (79)
