This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 52.139

दृष्टो सि भैरववने उग्रतपाभ्युत्थितो कमलनेत्र ।
दृष्ट्वा मे शोकमथितं हृदयं प्रीतिं समनुभोति ॥ १३९ ॥

dṛṣṭo si bhairavavane ugratapābhyutthito kamalanetra |
dṛṣṭvā me śokamathitaṃ hṛdayaṃ prītiṃ samanubhoti || 139 ||

“I have seen, O lotus-eyed one, that thou hast arisen from thy grim austerities in the terrible forest, and seeing this, my heart which had been stricken with grief feels joy again. (139)
