This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 24.21

उत्तरं नाम नगरं सुन्दरो नाम क्षत्रियो ।
शिरिका नाम जनिका मङ्गलस्य महर्षिणो ॥ २१ ॥

uttaraṃ nāma nagaraṃ sundaro nāma kṣatriyo |
śirikā nāma janikā maṅgalasya maharṣiṇo || 21 ||

Uttar a was the name of the great seer Mangala’s city, Sundara the name of the noble, his father, and Shirika his mother’s name. (21)
