This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 11.15

बोधिसत्वचरितं महापकं जातकापरमतेषु कोविदा ।
देशयन्ति दमदानसंवरं बोधिसत्वपरिषाय ईश्वरा ॥ १५ ॥

“The lords, learned in the Jatakas and other lore, preach to the concourse of Bodhisattvas self-control, charity, and restraint, as the qualities that bring a Bodhisattva’s career to a great maturity. (15)
