Verse 4.33 - The minimum lifetime in Saudharma and Aiśāna kalpa

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of Tattvartha sūtra 4.33:

अपरा पल्योपममधिकम् ॥ ४.३३ ॥

aparā palyopamamadhikam || 4.33 ||

In Saudharma and Aiśāna kalpa, the minimum lifetime is a little over one palyopama. (33)

Hindi Anvayarth:

अन्वयार्थ: सौधर्म और ईशान स्वर्ग में जघन्य आयु एक पल्य से कुछ अधिक है।

Anvayartha: saudharma aura ishana svarga mem jaghanya ayu eka palya se kucha adhika hai |

Palyopama has already been explained (see sūtra 3-38). The word ‘aparā’ means the minimum. Whose minimum lifetime is this? Of the deva in Saudharma and Aiśāna kalpa. How is it implied? It is implied since the next sūtra provides the minimum lifetime of the other deva.
