223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.207.15

वेदा लोकादयश्चैते पृष्टाः स्वानुभवान्विताम् ।
वदन्तीमां दृशं सर्वे यथा नश्यन्ति संशयाः ॥ १५ ॥

vedā lokādayaścaite pṛṣṭāḥ svānubhavānvitām |
vadantīmāṃ dṛśaṃ sarve yathā naśyanti saṃśayāḥ || 15 ||

It is the veda and the sayings of wise men, and the inferences of their right reasoning (in support of the invisible), as I have maintained in these lectures, that can remove the doubts in these matters.
