The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.123.6

पूर्वो मकरमाक्रम्य यदा गङ्गां निकृत्तवान् ।
गङ्गया स तदानीय कान्यकुब्जे समुज्झितः ॥ ६ ॥

pūrvo makaramākramya yadā gaṅgāṃ nikṛttavān |
gaṅgayā sa tadānīya kānyakubje samujjhitaḥ || 6 ||

He then went towards the east, and passing by the Ganges, he killed a shark that had pursued him, and arrived at last at the district of Kanya Kubja the modern Cawnpore.
