The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कचत्काञ्चनमाणिक्यमुक्तामणिमयं महः ।
तपस्तां नीतमाक्षिप्य पाण्डित्यमिव पामरैः ॥ ३२ ॥

kacatkāñcanamāṇikyamuktāmaṇimayaṃ mahaḥ |
tapastāṃ nītamākṣipya pāṇḍityamiva pāmaraiḥ || 32 ||

I saw the lustre of gold and other metals and minerals, and I found also how they are reduced to ashes by the act of calcination, like learned men overpowered by the clownish ignorant.
