The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.91.5

अन्धकारस्य दैन्यस्य समस्तगुणनाशिनः ।
दृश्यं सदृश्यमनिशं सर्वस्य गुणशालिनः ॥ ५ ॥

andhakārasya dainyasya samastaguṇanāśinaḥ |
dṛśyaṃ sadṛśyamaniśaṃ sarvasya guṇaśālinaḥ || 5 ||

It impoverishes the darkness, that bereaves all beings from their view of the beauties of nature, and dispenses the useful light, which brings all to the sight of the visibles.
