223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.35.10

अनहं सोऽहमिव तदनाशमिव नाशवत् ।
अकलङ्कं कलङ्कीव निर्वेद्यं वेद्यवाहिवत् ॥ १० ॥

anahaṃ so'hamiva tadanāśamiva nāśavat |
akalaṅkaṃ kalaṅkīva nirvedyaṃ vedyavāhivat || 10 ||

The unego appears as the very ego, and the imperishable One appearing as perishable; the unstained seem as tainted, and the unknowable known as the knowable all of the known world.
