The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

लब्धमाप्राणपर्यन्तंभमनुज्झतोः ।
आमिषं को वि वद माकरमूढयोः ॥ ८ ॥

labdhamāprāṇaparyantaṃbhamanujjhatoḥ |
āmiṣaṃ ko vi vada mākaramūḍhayoḥ || 8 ||

What is the difference between the greedy fool and voracious fish or whale, that devours the alluring bait of pleasure or pain; and will not give up the line until they are sure to give up their lives for the same.
