The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कारणाभावतः कार्यं न कस्यचिदिदं जगत् ।
अकारणत्वात्कार्यत्वं भ्रमाद्विद्धि त्विदं जगत् ॥ १७ ॥

kāraṇābhāvataḥ kāryaṃ na kasyacididaṃ jagat |
akāraṇatvātkāryatvaṃ bhramādviddhi tvidaṃ jagat || 17 ||

There being no causal power, the world is not the production of any body; it is our error only that this world as a production without any assignable cause.
