The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

व्रजन्पर्याकृतौ कूपे पातालतलभीषणे ।
खातशुष्काब्ध्यधोभागे गजरत्नसमुद्गके ॥ २६ ॥

vrajanparyākṛtau kūpe pātālatalabhīṣaṇe |
khātaśuṣkābdhyadhobhāge gajaratnasamudgake || 26 ||

The big elephant was thus caught in the circular pit, which was as deep as the dreadful depth of the sea; and lay confined in it, as some treasure is shut up in the hollow womb of a chest.
