The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.59.43

बन्धमोक्षादिकार्होऽसौ प्रेक्ष्यमाणः प्रणश्यति ।
प्रेक्षणादेव संशान्ते त्वहंभावे निरास्पदे ॥ ४३ ॥

bandhamokṣādikārho'sau prekṣyamāṇaḥ praṇaśyati |
prekṣaṇādeva saṃśānte tvahaṃbhāve nirāspade || 43 ||

That only is subject to bondage and liberation, which is seen and destructible in its nature (i.e. the visible and perishable body); and not the invisible soul, which take the name of ego, and has no position nor form or figure of itself.
