The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

द्वित्वस्वसंविदा द्वित्वमेकस्यैव प्रवर्तते ।
पुंसो वेतालसंकल्पाद्वेताल इव भासुरः ॥ २८ ॥

dvitvasvasaṃvidā dvitvamekasyaiva pravartate |
puṃso vetālasaṃkalpādvetāla iva bhāsuraḥ || 28 ||

The difference and duality of one from its identity and unity, are results of one's thinking himself other wise than what he really is; as a man becomes a devil by thinking himself possessed by a ghost.
