223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.29.119

न देवः कमलोद्भूतो न देवस्त्रिदशेश्वरः ।
न देवः पवनो नार्को नानलो न निशाकरः ॥ ११९ ॥

na devaḥ kamalodbhūto na devastridaśeśvaraḥ |
na devaḥ pavano nārko nānalo na niśākaraḥ || 119 ||

It is not the god born of the lotus Brahma, nor he who is the lord of the thirteen classes of god—the great Indra himself; it is not the god of winds—Pavana, nor the god of fire, nor the regents of the sun and moon.
