The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अदुःखमेति दुःखित्वमन्तःसंवेदना स्फुटम् ।
स्फारो भवति वेतालो वेतालत्वेन भावितः ॥ २२ ॥

aduḥkhameti duḥkhitvamantaḥsaṃvedanā sphuṭam |
sphāro bhavati vetālo vetālatvena bhāvitaḥ || 22 ||

The bliss of the soul is converted to misery, by its false apprehension of unrealities; as when one comes in sight of an apparition, by his false imagination of a ghost.
