The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

नीरसा निःसुखा लघ्वी पतत्पेलवगात्रिका ।
जीर्णपर्णसवर्णेयं क्षीयते दिवसावली ॥ २२ ॥

nīrasā niḥsukhā laghvī patatpelavagātrikā |
jīrṇaparṇasavarṇeyaṃ kṣīyate divasāvalī || 22 ||

The slackened limbs of the old and withered body, drop down like the dry leaves of trees; and there is nothing to prop up the drooping spirit, from its decay and decline day by day.
