The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

आशाख्याश्चित्तवृक्षस्य शाखाः स्थगितदिक्तटाः ।
तासु च्छिन्नास्वरूपत्वं याति चित्तमहाद्रुमः ॥ २२ ॥
āśākhyāścittavṛkṣasya śākhāḥ sthagitadiktaṭāḥ |
tāsu cchinnāsvarūpatvaṃ yāti cittamahādrumaḥ || 22 ||
The arbour of desire stretches its branches, far and wide on every side, and darkens the space of the mind with their gloomy shadow.
